Behind The Design: Monaco GP Poster Ahead of the 2025 Monaco GP, the design team at BWT Alpine Formula One Team took us through the latest special edition race poster to come out for Round 8. What were the initial steps you took when designing the Monaco GP Race Poster? We did some research to help us build something with genuine links to the country. The research includes looking at what colours to use, patterns or iconography that link to Monaco and what has been done before. An in-depth explanation of how you designed this specific graphic After conducting our research, we found the Monegasque coat of arms and decided that we wanted to use it. However, we didn’t want to just stick a flat pattern on; we wanted to explore ways of implementing the pattern in an interesting and dynamic way. So, we headed into Cinema4D and started building our idea. We went through many iterations before finally landing on a curved, three-dimensional version of the pattern that would allow the cars to be front and centre. Thanks to the shape of the diamonds in the pattern, we were able to use it as an element to convey a greater sense of speed through the subtle lines they create when motion blur is applied. Furthermore, we added in both cars, as we felt it gives a better sense of the tight racing in Monaco.
